Hilma Rojos

Chapel service for Hilma Rojos, age 81, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Ellis Funeral Home in Muleshoe. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery. Hilma died Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Muleshoe. She was born September 7, 1940 in Alice, Texas to Leopoldo and Eloisa (Buentello) Anguiano Sr. She married Antonio Rojos Sr. in Muleshoe in 1973. Hilma was a woman of prayer, starting from an early age. She deeply loved God and her family. Her faith helped her through her journey in this life. Hilma relied on God at all times. She started working as a nurse’s aide in 1967. In 1978, she received her medi-aide certificate. Even though it was very difficult for her, Hilma retired in 2020. She wrote, that there were many changes during her work career, but her love for the residents remained the same. “The residents have given me a lot of knowledge.” Hilma loved caring for all of her patients. She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio; her parents; a son, Reynaldo Rojos; a sister, Ester Anguiano; two brothers, Leopoldo Anguiano Jr. and Gilberto Anguiano; and a grandson, Anthony Buenrostro. Hilma is survived by two sons, Antonio Rojos Jr, and Kim Chance of Yukon, Oklahoma and Lupe Rosales and his wife, Monica of New Braunfels, Texas; two daughters, Sandy Buenrostro of Muleshoe, Texas and Suzette Duran of Clovis, New Mexico; a sister, Amelia Gonzales of Muleshoe, Texas; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren; and her wonderful care-giver, Francy Montes. Estela G. Salas of Alice, Texas, passed away July 19, 2022, in Alice, Texas. She was born December 22, 1931, in Falfurrias, Brooks County, Texas to Hilario and Enemencia Morales Garcia. Estela married the love of her life, Gavino Salas, on July 20, 1947, and they enjoyed 73 years together. She was a homemaker all her life. She raised a family of five and made sure everyone attended school with clean clothes and their homework. Once Gavino retired, they started off each morning with a walk around the neighborhood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gavino; her parents; an infant son, Arturo Salas; son-in-law, Roel Ruiz; grandson Alberto Salas; brothers Julian M. Garcia, Hilario Garcia, Jr., Jose M. Garcia, Gilberto M. Garcia, and Rodolfo M. Garcia; and sister Consuelo G. Garza. She is survived by her sons Alejo (Alma) Salas, Armando (Anna) Salas, and Arturo (Norma) Salas all of Alice; her daughters Melba S. Ruiz and Melissa Salas of Alice; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brother Alfredo Sam (Carolina) Garcia; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, July 22, 2022, from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at Rosas Funeral Home, 1215 West Front St., Alice, Texas. A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, Texas at 10:00 A.M. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias, Texas. Pallbearers will be David A. Gonzalez, Jr., Ernesto Salas, Alejo Salas, Jr., A.J. Salas, Joshua Peña, and Gilberto Garcia, Jr.

Jaime Villarreal

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Jaime Villarreal announces his passing from this earth on July 11, 7, 2022, at his home in Alice TX, surrounded by family. Jaime fought a courageous 3-year battle with cancer. Jaime was born to Pedro Villarreal Jr. and Dianna Rivera Villarreal on August 24, 1968, in San Bernardino, California. He graduated from Alice High School in 1986 and attended Texas A&I university in Kingsville Texas. He briefly worked for Schlumberger Technologies before beginning his career with Coastal Refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. Coastal Refinery which later became Valero Refinery, where Jaime remained, and achieved the position of Shift Superintendent. Jaime enjoyed his work and made many friendships throughout his 30 years at the refinery. Jaime enjoyed watching football, cooking, barbecuing, hunting, and being at the family ranch with friends and family. He was a truly kind and generous person, with a personality that always made you smile. Jaime will be dearly missed by those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pedro and Emilia P. Villarreal, Sr. and Juan N. and Lilia G. Rivera. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sharon Chavez Villarreal, his four children, Erika (Leon) Villarreal Gonzalez, Jaime Miguel (Michelle) Villarreal, Sylvia Laughlin, and Sarena Villarreal, and five grandchildren, Bailynn, Aaden, and Elco Villarreal and Elle and Levin Gonzalez; all of Alice Texas. Jaime is also survived by his parents, Pedro and Dianna Rivera Villarreal, Jr., and his brother, Javier (Marisela) Villarreal of Alice, Texas. It is difficult to say goodbye, and the time spent with Jaime will be forever cherished. He was loved so dearly and will be forever missed. There will be a private Memorial Mass in celebration of his life at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, TX at 10:00 A.M. on Friday July 29, 2022.

Alice, Texas - Amparo “Amy” Chavarria, age 62, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a long illness. Amparo was born December 18, 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Juanita Aguirre and Francisco Garcia. Amy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and loved spending time with all of her family. She loved to make everyone’s day special, especially during the holiday times. Amy always complained about cooking, but loved it anyways. She had a hidden talent that came out in the form of party decorating. She decorated for birthdays and weddings and just loved to craft anything in general. She loved dancing and hated sports. A special memory to her children is when she would sing “Your are my sunshine” to them. Amy worked for Hans Brothers Industries for over 15 years and considered Rodney and Scott Hans as part of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law Jose Miguel Chavarria Sr., her mother-in-law Juanita Chavarria, and her brother-in-law Juan Pablo Chavarria.
