School Holidays 2024 in UP: 2024 has started meanwhile the Education Department of Uttar Pradesh has released the Academic Holiday Calendar. According to the academic calendar, secondary schools in UP will remain closed for 118* days in the year 2024. UP School Holiday List 2024:The DM, Bhanu Chandra Goswami, has now extended the winter vacation until January 26, 2024. The schools will now open on January 27, 2024, Saturday. The reason behind the decision is the decreasing temperature and cold waves that will affect the students severely. The notice is for students until 8th grade. The Good news for school students and teachers of Uttar Pradesh Board, as the official holiday calendar of 2024 has been released by the Uttar Pradesh government. According to this new holiday, schools will remain closed for around 118± days in 2024. And schools will be open for 233 days to complete the academic syllabus 2024-25. Festival holidays, weekends and extended summer holidays are outlined in the calendar announced by the Director of Secondary Education.
The Director of Secondary Education has made the holidays and academic calendar of 2024 available on its official website. The special thing in the released official calendar is that apart from Karva Chauth, women teachers will also be able to take leave during two other fasts and festivals in the year. These leaves will be approved by the Principal. Apart from this, summer vacation will be from 21st May to 30th June. There will be a total of 118 days of holidays in a year including summer holidays, Sundays and other holidays. Board exams will be conducted for 15 days only.
The school principal can grant three holidays at his discretion but will have to inform the DIOS. There will be two days holiday on Holi and three days holiday on Diwali including Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj.
UP Summer Vacation 2024
In Uttar Pradesh, most schools' summer breaks start on May 18 and last on June 18. But from May 20 to June 15, elementary and upper primary schools will be closed for vacation. This is because May 19 falls on a Sunday, meaning that vacations start earlier than normal.

Here is a list of all the holidays that UP students will be celebrating in 2024. In 2024, there will be 114 school holidays for students. Fifty-three of the remaining working days have been used for academic activities, and fifteen of those days have been devoted to exams.
